JILLIAN SHEA CONTINUES HER POP/FUTURE BASS MASHUP WITH ANOTHER IMPECCABLE SINGLE, ‘TALK TOO LOUD’2/5/2020 ![]() “You know when you say what’s on your mind and get judged? Same.” Is the only description of “Talk Too Loud,” the new single on Jillian Shea’s Soundcloud and it’s really all that’s needed. The song’s title and lyrics are clear, and based on them it’s also clear that Shea didn’t plan to mince words. Jillian Shea has always been big on genuine expression as well as putting a positive spin on her vocals but with “Talk Too Loud” those lyrical qualities have definitely been amplified. It’s a really important message for girls and young women in such a time as this (or throughout history, really) where not only is censorship under fierce debate but girls and women are judged harshly on small snippets of information or quotes on Instagram. The pressure is on to say the “right” thing always or simply to not say anything and look perfect.
![]() “Talk Too Loud” is the latest from Jillian Shea, who caught our ears with “Barely Changed” in January. “Talk Too Loud” shows an even firmer grasp of pop hooks for the young artist, complete with a melodic hook sporting fun vocal pitch fluctuation. The track, produced by Mikal Blue and Nate Lennox, seems like the type of release to make waves for an emerging pop act. The “talk, talk,” vocal repetition with electronic layering plays with sleek, melodic precision. Also appearing as “Bailey” in the Disney XD channel show “Walk the Prank,” Shea’s career certainly continues rising.
![]() Production has commenced in Boston on "Godmothered," an original live-action movie for Disney+ starring Isla Fisher ("Confessions of a Shopaholic," "Wedding Crashers") and Jillian Bell ("Brittany Runs a Marathon," "Rough Night"), directed by Sharon Maguire ("Bridget Jones's Diary," "Bridget Jones's Baby"). The screenplay is by Kari Granlund ("Lady and the Tramp") and Melissa K. Stack ("The Other Woman"). The film is produced by Justin Springer ("Dumbo," "TRON: Legacy"), with Ivan Reitman ("Ghostbusters"), Tom Pollock (the upcoming "Ghostbusters: Afterlife"), Amie Karp (the upcoming "Ghostbusters: Afterlife") and Diane L. Sabatini ("Lady and the Tramp") serving as executive producers. Set at Christmas time, "Godmothered" is a comedy about Eleanor, a young, inexperienced fairy godmother-in-training (Bell) who upon hearing that her chosen profession is facing extinction, decides to show the world that people still need fairy godmothers. Finding a mislaid letter from a 12-year-old girl in distress, Eleanor tracks her down and discovers that the girl, Mackenzie, is now a 40-year-old single mom (Fisher) working at a news station in Boston. Having lost her husband several years earlier, Mackenzie has all but given up on the idea of "Happily Ever After," but Eleanor is bound and determined to give Mackenzie a happiness makeover, whether she likes it or not. ![]() We know—we've been waiting, too. "Something Better" is going to be a total hit. Jillian also released an accompanying music video, directed by Lilia Buckingham. 13 girls are in it alongside her, lip-synching along to the lyrics. The song is all about girl power, something we can totally get behind. The lyrics themselves are heartbreaking, which can be seen through the anguished looks on each girl's face as she sings. Jillian talks about letting go of past loves and finding the strength to move on from bad, toxic relationships. We love how she discusses real topics and isn't afraid to show her vulnerable side to the world. LA Superstar, Jillian Shea Spaeder, inspires the world by simply being herself.
